How my journey began

Sharon Asby is a photographer, author, health coach, and creator whose journey has been shaped by resilience, creativity, and a passion for helping others thrive.

I was born and raised in Virginia, though my mom loved to move around, so I got to experience living in a few different places growing up. Looking back, I actually think that adventure and change were pretty fun.

I’ve always had a camera in my hand. In high school, I started out taking photos of my friends, back in the film days in a darkroom. That love for photography only grew, and one of my proudest early moments was winning second place in a worldwide photography contest. Eventually, I made my way down to Florida because my dad always talked about how incredible it was, and I was ready for the beach life. That’s also where I officially started my photography business, working with models and building portfolios in West Palm Beach, just a quick drive from Miami. When all those models started having families, my work naturally shifted into maternity, newborn, and family photography, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Life also had something extra planned. Photography is actually what connected me to Matt, who is now my husband and best friend. We eloped in Colorado in 2019 with our closest family and friends, and not long after, we moved to Nashville together where we’ve built our life and our businesses.

Outside of photography, I’m passionate about wellness and creativity. I’m in school to become a yoga instructor, Matt and I love farmers market trips, and I have a little obsession with tiger nuts (don’t knock them until you try them). We both adore New York City and baseball, especially cheering for the Yankees.

At the heart of it all, I just love capturing memories and creating things that make people feel good, whether that is through my camera, my writing, or my wellness projects..
