My Louis Vuitton Obsession… and Why I Sold Almost Everything

At one point, I had over 70 Louis Vuitton pieces.

Bags, wallets, accessories… you name it.

It wasn’t just a couple things here and there.
It was a full collection.

And if I’m being honest… I loved it.

How It Started

It didn’t happen overnight.

It was:

  • buying one piece

  • then another

  • getting into the resale world

And before I knew it, I had built a full collection.

It felt exciting.
It felt fun.
It felt like I had something.

When It Started to Change

I actually started selling a few pieces in 2024.

Nothing major at first.
Just here and there.

But everything really shifted when we moved into our new house in January 2025.

Something about that move… just reset everything for me.

The Moment Everything Clicked

In February 2025, I finally learned why I had been feeling so sick.

And I can’t fully explain it—but something in me shifted.

My priorities changed.
What I cared about changed.
What felt important… changed.

And suddenly, all of this “stuff” didn’t feel the same anymore.

The Turning Point I Didn’t Expect

Around that same time, I had a Louis Vuitton purse where the straps broke.

The stitching started coming undone.

And I remember looking at it thinking:

“Wait… what?”

Because in my mind, these pieces were supposed to be:

  • high quality

  • long-lasting

  • worth the investment

And that moment made me start questioning everything.

And Then I Started Noticing More…

It wasn’t just one thing.

It kept happening.

Matt got a pair of shoes… and the toe part caved in.

I had a wallet that I used once and it got a mark.

A bracelet I bought?
Immediately scratched just from wearing it.

And my most expensive bag…
has a small blemish just from rubbing against it.

And I was like:

“What am I actually paying for here?”

I Started Looking at It Differently

It wasn’t just about the brand anymore.

It was the realization that:

  • not everything was holding up the way I expected

  • the quality didn’t always match the price

  • and I had way more than I actually used

And once I saw it, I couldn’t unsee it.

So I Let It Go

I ended up selling almost everything.

Out of 70+ pieces…

I kept:

  • 4 items ( 2 I actually got in Paris )

  • and my Louis Vuitton china (because of course I did 😂)

Everything else? Gone.

Why I Made That Decision

It wasn’t about hating it.

It was about realizing:

  • I had outgrown it

  • it didn’t align with where I was going

  • I didn’t want to be tied to that much “stuff” anymore

And honestly… it started to feel heavy.

What I Learned From It

Just because something is expensive
doesn’t mean it holds value in your life.

And just because something is a “luxury brand”
doesn’t mean it’s indestructible.

How I Feel Now

Lighter.

More clear.

More aligned with what actually matters to me now.

I still appreciate nice things.
I still like quality.

But I’m much more intentional now.

Final Thoughts

If you’re holding onto things because:

  • they were expensive

  • they felt important at one point

  • or they were part of a version of you

It’s okay to let them go.
