The 90s, Analog Life, and Why Everything Feels So Different Now

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the 90s.

Not in a dramatic way.
Just little moments where I catch myself missing how things used to feel.

And the more I think about it…
the more I realize it wasn’t just the time.

It was the way we lived.

Life Felt Slower (In the Best Way)

There was no constant scrolling.
No endless opinions.
No one telling you every five minutes what you were doing wrong.

You woke up.
You lived your day.
And that was it.

We Didn’t Have Access to Everything

And honestly… that was kind of the beauty of it.

  • You weren’t comparing your life to hundreds of people daily

  • You weren’t being sold something every time you opened your phone

  • You weren’t overwhelmed with information

You just… existed.

Now Everything Feels Loud

Today, everything is:

  • faster

  • louder

  • more intense

You open your phone and immediately you’re hit with:

  • advice

  • opinions

  • things to fix

  • things to buy

  • things to worry about

And it never really stops.

We’re Living in a Digital World… But Craving Analog

There’s this shift happening right now.

People are starting to want:

  • slower mornings

  • less screen time

  • real conversations

  • simple routines

Almost like we’re all trying to get back to something.

What I Think We’re Actually Missing

It’s not just the 90s.

It’s:

  • peace

  • simplicity

  • not being constantly influenced

It’s the feeling of:

not being pulled in a hundred different directions

My Version of “Analog” Now

I’ve started noticing this in my own life.

  • unfollowing people on social media

  • not needing to keep up with everything

  • focusing on what’s actually in front of me

And it feels… calmer.

It’s Not About Going Back

We’re not going to live like the 90s again.

But we can bring pieces of it back into our lives.

  • less noise

  • less pressure

  • less comparison

More presence.
More intention.
More real life.

Final Thoughts

Maybe it’s not about missing the past.

Maybe it’s about realizing what we’ve lost along the way…
and choosing to bring some of it back.
