Seed Oil Conversation
Let’s talk about seed oils, and why they are bad for you. I didn’t realize how terrible I felt until I made the switch and stopped eating these seed oils. Unfortunately, a lot of processed foods have these oils in them so you really have to look at your ingredients and avoid them. Another reason I do not eat out.
Most processed foods and restaurant meals are loaded with seed oils like canola, soybean, corn, and sunflower oil. These oils are highly processed, often rancid before they even hit the shelves, and packed with inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids that disrupt your health.
Why Are Seed Oils Bad?
Industrially processed with high heat & chemicals
Oxidize easily, leading to inflammation in the body
Linked to chronic health issues like heart disease, obesity, and hormonal imbalances
Better Alternatives:
Olive oil (100% from one source – like my go-to, an Italian single-origin olive oil)
Ghee (rich in nutrients and great for high-heat cooking)
Grass-fed butter (packed with healthy fats and fat-soluble vitamins)
Why Single-Origin Olive Oil Matters
Many olive oils on the market are blends from multiple countries, often mixed with cheaper oils (even seed oils!). Always choose a high-quality, single-origin oil to ensure purity and nutritional benefits.
When cooking at home, swapping seed oils for real, nutrient-dense fats makes a huge difference in your health.
